Raw Oysters

I am going to eat them until they say we can't!
My heart is breaking for the gulf coast.

Lunch at Casamento's

I believe I've mentioned my love for oysters. I particularly enjoy them raw. My dear friend, K., met me uptown at Casamento's this week, and we just gabbed away over a couple dozen and crabclaws.  An added treat was seeing Michael, a five time shucking champ, who was once the beloved oyster shucker at the now defunct Uglesich's. We found him right inside the front door with his oyster knife in hand.  Michael has also shucked for what Davis Rogan once coined in a song that he sang to our answering machine titled, "The Greatest Party in the World".  (thanks Davis)
The first big party we threw at the Truckfarm was great and Michael was one of the reasons why.

Oysters Mosca

I grew up hearing about Mosca's, a restaurant on the West Bank of New Orleans, from my parents.  They raved about every olive oil soaked dish, the family style presentation, the chicken cacciatore, but most of all the Oysters Mosca.  My Mother makes a great one and here is my own first attempt.
